You're the second person to mention that movie to me! I haven’t seen it yet, so that’s why I didn’t include it , but I’ll definitely look it up and give it a watch.

found it! https://substack.com/@beyondthefirewall/note/p-160793305?utm_source=notes-share-action&r=zbs4e

There is enough here to write a "The Net" type of screenplay or at least a Black Mirror episode!

Even though Francis Ford Copolla's The Conversation was made in 1974, it deserves a place on this list. Three general themes: you never know who's listening in, knowing your privacy is being invaded can affect your mental health, and eavesdropping can give you the wrong idea. Plus a very young Harrison Ford as a bad guy.

What a great suggestion! I actually didn’t know about this , but it definitely sounds like a classic. I’ll look it up for sure!

Great List...

Back in the day,

The Net from 1995 was an eye opener at the time...

Seemed very predictive....

BTW just learned I am no longer able to disconnect ( shut off) the microphone on my ROKU tv anymore!

Permanently on.

LoL

- Alexa, Siri, Iphone, TV, Laptop, desktop, car...

All listening in!

Wow!

Totally get you,l! Feels like The Net was more documentary than fiction, everything’s listening now, even the fridge LOL

Funny you mention 'The Fridge' did you listen to the article regarding the remote employee who was fired due to his refrigerator and the IoT?

Fascinating...

Thanks, that is not it…

I have been looking. The one I read was an employee’s smart fridge was connected unknowingly to the IoT. The employers system was connected to that. The employer AI reported inefficient use of the refrigerator on company time!

Employee was reprimanded, put on probation and let go, although his numbers, output were fine. He was let go due to inefficiency!!!

That seems invasion of privacy’ then again, if one is working from ‘Home’ does that ‘home belong to the individual or the company during work hours????

Yikes!

Whoa, that’s wild! I hadn’t heard that specific case, but it really blurs the line between personal and professional space. If your smart fridge is being monitored for 'efficiency' during work hours… that feels like a serious overstep. If you have, send the link of the case

Hey my friend! I haven’t seen that movie yet, so that’s why it wasn’t on the list , but I’ve added it now to my watchlist! :) One of my criteria for the ranking was actually having watched the movie hehe.

A subject worth learning....albiet kicking and screaming. Gotta figure out how to block out the EMF blasts in the middle of the night first. They kill people and know exactly who they are....just like the injections.

Thanks for the comment, William, but these movies focus on real privacy issues. I am not sure if I get your point of view.

They identified people before they went and got the dose specified 4U. Turns out there were many flavors....from bad to worse. The emf part refers to the privacy invasion whereby they put a microwave weapon in your home that doubles as a spy
